After keeping her artistic talent at bay for many years, Reenie found a reinvigorated love for expression through painting. While she studied fine art in college and with various successful painters as a young woman, she found little time for her artwork until she no longer felt the pressing needs of working and raising a family. She has resumed her studies, but now considers herself to be self-taught.  She believes the work has benefited because of the experiences gained by the passage of the time it's taken to get here, and continued study can only improve the work, adding to the joy of creating it.

The desire to create was always resting just beneath the surface, and when the opportunity arose to semi-retire, she eagerly did so. This allowed her to start a children’s mural painting business. The urge to work on canvas won out, so she began the creation of her “Ebony Collection.” The collection was a success and encouraged her to broaden the scope to other floral genre.  Though she was trained in oils, she transitioned herself to acrylics for reasons of practicality and found she loved the immediacy of the medium.

Reenie's work was prominently featured as the winner of the 2009 American Artist Watercolor Magazine Cover Art Competition.  Her work was  featured on the cover of the magazine along with an in-depth article about the painting process.

Her painting "Cactus Wren" was selected by the jury for the National Oil and Arylic Painters Society "Best of America Exhibit 2009."   The painting was sold to a prominent collector for their permanent collection.

Reenie's work appeared in the Summer 2008 Edition of The American Artist Watercolor Magazine as a finalist in their 2008 Cover Art Competition.

In 2008 she was invited to join WAOW, Women Artists of the West.

In early 2007, she was invited to become a member of the prestigious International Guild of Realism of Scottsdale, Arizona.

In 2007 she entered the international scene with an entry in the Australian Ambience Art Contest where, in November of 2007, she was awarded a Commendation Award for her wildlife work, and was again honored in 2009 as well.

Many of her works have been accepted into the American Juried Art Salon since the Spring of 2006.  She has now been designated one of their Master Class Plus artists where she can been seen on their website with her own gallery.  Go to her Awards Section for links.

Her work was honored in September 2006 as a finalist in The Emerging Artists Group Competition.

Reenie’s work hangs in private collections across the country and in Canada.
